Kikiko “Kiki” Nakayama

Kiki Nakayama is a 14-year-old Japanese student who communicates best through music rather than words. Striking in red, black, and blue rocker-inspired clothes, with Ladybug headphones and blue-highlighted bangs partially covering her face, she gives off an intimidating aura that masks her shyness. In reality, Kiki longs to connect with others but struggles with selective mutism, leaving her to communicate only with her instruments. Thankfully, her best friends Claire and Roxanne are able to understand her musical language. 

Multi-talented and able to play nearly every instrument, Kiki pours her emotions into performance. On the rare occasions she sings, her voice reveals an astonishing range. She also harbors a secret love for adrenaline, chasing thrills that excite and unsettle Bo — the classmate who becomes her closest confidant and eventual love interest through their shared passion for music.
